BOOST funded instrumental facility:

 Introduction: The Department of Science &Technology and Biotechnology, Govt. of West Bengal has been sanctioned BOOST programme in the session 2017-18 to the Department of Zoology, Rammohan College. This programme has been initiated to procure sophisticated equipments for infrastructural upgradation of research laboratories with an aim of academic improvement in UG/PG colleges of West Bengal as an integral part of promotion of biotechnology. The goal of this programme is to create trained man-power to serve the nation via establishing intellectual corpus repository in Biotechnology and Science & Technology sectors. Regular class practicals and research facility upliftment via utilising sophisticated instruments is also an objective the Department behind sanctioning the BOOST Grants. The Department decided to fund state funded/aided colleges (UG and PG) and Universities offering various courses in Biological sciences with evidence of a biotechnology component. Proposals were invited for consideration of support under a scheme entitled "Biotechnology based Opportunities Offered to Science & Technology Departments" or BOOST. A sanction of Rs 25 lakhs was received via the reference latter no. 1087/BT(Estt)/1P-19/2018 of dated: 24/10/2019 for the implementation of the BOOST project.
